TraderChat Rules Overview
TraderChat is dedicated to fostering and maintaining a friendly online trading community, where members of all ages and trading ability feel relaxed and comfortable. Like any community, the TraderChat site has certain standards, and in order to ensure these are upheld, we have a set of rules in place. When you join our forums, you agree to abide by these rules and repeated violations may result in you being banned from the site. TraderChat.com ("TraderChat") is a professional trading resource that promotes mature, intelligent & respectful discussion in a positive & safe environment for everyone.
User Names and accounts
Please do not register with a User Name that advertises a website or email address. (visitBob.com versus Bob). Please maintain only one account on the forum. If you forget your login details or wish to change your user name then email TraderChat for help, please do not simply re-register. Anyone found using multiple accounts will be warned and may have all additional accounts deleted. Further violations of this rule will result in being banned.
Language
No violent, discriminatory language or personal attacks are tolerated in the forum. Offending language will be removed. If offensive language in posts becomes a consistent problem, you may be banned from posting. Sexual content is not permitted on TraderChat. Anything which could be hurtful to someone else (within reason) is course for a warning to be given. This includes sexually explicit avatars, sexist jokes, use of violent sexual language, unwanted sexual advances, and anything else that could be hurtful and offensive. This site is rated for all ages and should follow what would be accepted in a professional office setting.
Advertisements
No advertisement of any form is tolerated in any forum. Members with less than 200 posts will not be allowed to post website links. After a member has reached the 200 post requirement, links to other websites will be allowed providing these specifically relate to research, support or have something to do with the actual post and are not for advertising purposes. No affiliate links are allowed and will be removed. Please don't use TraderChat with the intention of generating traffic for another trading community. This goes against basic "netiquette." We'll delete posts that, in our judgment, mention or link to our competitors for the sole purpose of encouraging our users to participate elsewhere. In addition no advertisements for products or services should be sent out via private messages (PMs) as that too is considered a solicitation. Members who choose to disregard these rules will have their posts edited and be subject to removal from TraderChat.
Thread Title Punctuation
Subjects and posts must not contain excessive amounts of punctuation (namely exclamation marks or question marks). Placing a large number of “smileys” is also discouraged. No excessive “shouting” is allowed (sentences or wording with all caps).
Spam
We work hard to protect our honest members. Once in a while, TraderChat draws the attention of unscrupulous individuals hoping to exploit the concentration of a large number people for their own profit. Usually these individuals post messages about various get-rich-quick or multi-level-marketing (Pyramid) schemes, or even links to sites that download all kinds of software and viruses to your computer. Sometimes these individuals will be sneakier, especially if they realize that we log all IP Addresses and ban them from access to the board. If you see spam on the site that we missed, please let us know.
Relevancy
Every TraderChat forum has a different topic, so what is appropriate in one forum or thread may not be appropriate in another.
